Terry Sitz is a third generation artist and native Washingtonian. Her mixed media works examine the intersection of fragility, strength and resilience.
Sitz's paintings are conduits for healing and offer a platform for expressing deeply felt personal and societal concerns.
In recent years, her works were part of Georgetown Medical School research on the healing impact of art on chronically ill children and have been collected by organizations that offer health and mental health support as well as private collectors.
Terry’s inclusion of recycled and historic materials in her paintings add a quiet richness to the story buried beneath her strong colors and abstracted forms. Her works have been featured in solo and group shows and recognized in news, art and academic publications.
